SOCIETY FOR MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS RESEARCH AND TEACHING AND TRAINING is an autonomous body of Mental Health professionals in the city of PUNE, working for the cause of positive mental health by promoting prevention, control, treatment and relief of all psychiatric disabilities. Public Education, Research, Teaching, Psychiatric training, and academic exchange are other areas of society’s focus.
The core missions of SMARTT includes encouragement to the highest possible standards of clinical practice, to increase knowledge and skills about mental disorders and how they can be prevented and treated, to promote mental health and to promote the highest possible ethical standards in psychiatric work.

- Encourage Mental health professionals with awards, educational grant, research funding or in terms of sponsorship for knowledge up-gradation or awareness at national and international level.
- To increase awareness of mental health in other medical specialities.
- Laison with local/state/zonal/national and International organization for development of Mental Health in our society.
