Dr. Dhananjay Ashturkar, an accomplished Psychiatrist from Pimpri-Chinchwad area in Pune, is one of the esteemed Directors of Aastha Hospital (Chinchwad, Pune) and Prerana De-addiction Centre (Kanhephata, Maval) through which he plays a key role in a broad range of mental health care services. Besides this, Dr. Ashturkar also offers psychiatric services to many hospitals in PCMC area through his attachment as a consulting Psychiatrist.
Dr. Ashturkar graduated from GMC, Nanded and thereafter finalized DPM from G S Medical College & KEM Hospital, Mumbai securing second position in the examination. His past professional experience includes three years towards teaching as Assistant Lecturer in Dept. of Psychiatry, Dr. D Y Patil Medical College, Pimpri. Dr. Ashturkar is associated with significant positions in medical societies and professional bodies.
Dr. Ashturkar perceived the need to promote psychological health and a disease free sound mind in today's stressful times. He thus set up Aastha Hospital for the benefit of people residing in PCMC area. This 30-bedded hospital catering to patients afflicted with mental illnesses & addictions as well as long term rehabilitation has served as a boon to the people in the region.
Dr. Ashturkar has been instrumental in organizing several stress management workshops for the benefit of students, doctors and other professionals. He also has organized various awareness campaigns to educate the masses and increase awareness levels related to mental health.
Furthermore, Dr. Ashturkar has contributed extensively in terms of Psychosocial Intervention and Psychological support services offered to people subjected to natural disasters such as Killari earthquake affected in Latur and Tsunami affected in Tamilnadu. Dr. Ashturkar has received wide appreciation from various quarters for his selfless social work and was recently felicitated as one of the ICONS of Pimpri Chinchwad area by Lokmat Media Group.
